Mary passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Let us keep Bud and the Justice family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time of loss. More information will follow when we receive it.
A BIG THANK-YOU
Many, many thanks for the wonderful celebration of the 50th anniversary of my ordination! It was such a special time and I feel quite humbled by the outpouring of love. Thank you to everyone who did so much to make it a special time. The picture and signatures are terrific, as is Walter's song and Nicolette's cake. Trinity knows how to party! A Huge THANK YOU to ...
all the dedicated bakers and wonderful sandwich makers who assisted to make Steve Oliver’s "Celebration of Life" such a wonderful success! Steve’s family and friends were very appreciative. A huge thank you to John and Armand for manning the dishwasher until the job was completed and never complained about the extreme heat. An enormous thank you to Kevin for all his hard work moving everything out of Trinity Hall and setting up all the tables and chairs. Finally, a gigantic thank you to everyone who stayed until the end in order to ensure everything was ready for Respite Wednesday morning! Karen Foote

Ukulele Practice

Yard Sale at Trinity United Church, Bobcaygeon
We are planning to have a yard sale here at Trinity this Saturday, June 8th from 9:00 a.m. till 1:00 p.m. with all proceeds going towards the accessibility washroom fund. If you have any gently used items you are not using anymore and would like to donate to the sale it would be appreciated. (no clothing please). All items will be collected here at the church the day before this Friday, June 7th after 4:00 pm. If you have any questions or would like to help on that day please speak to Cathy Bennett. Concert at Trinity United Church “The Harp & Whistle”
An afternoon of Celtic Stories and Music! With Tanah Haney, Edith Hawkins & Debra Northey. Taking place on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. right here at Trinity! Admission by donation. In support of building an accessible church washroom. Donations of $25.00 and up will get a tax receipt.
Knitting & Crocheting Group
Our Trinity Knitting & Crocheting Group will take a break for the summer and then return in the Fall to meet every other week on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the Fellowship Room at Trinity United Church to enjoy some pleasant socializing, a cup of tea and of course a little knitting or crocheting. See you in the Fall and all are welcome to attend!
Needed – 500 ml. Mason Jars
I am looking for 500 ml. Mason Jars for the chili sauce making in Aug./Sept. If you are Spring cleaning and are not using your jars any longer, please put them on the counter in the Church kitchen and I will periodically pick them up. Mark your calendars ladies as I have set the dates for making the chili sauce: August 29th, Sept. 3rd and Sept. 5th starting at 8:30 a.m. Lots of chopping and good fellowship. A Special Date… You are invited!
Sunday, June 9 -- join United Church congregations far and wide at Westdale United Church, 1509 Sherbrooke St. West, Peterborough to begin celebrations for The United Church's 100th anniversary! A worship service from Metropolitan United Church in Toronto will be livestreamed across the country, beginning at 4:00 p.m. Before that there will be Birthday Cake and lemonade at 3:00 p.m. If you need a ride, please sign the "I Need a Ride to Peterborough" sheet in the narthex. It's going to be awesome!
Providence United Church News
Providence will be starting up their church service on Sunday, June 16th with Rev. Dr. Bob Root giving the message and special music will be the Providence Road Band with Mike Chell as the organist.
On June 8th, as part of the Bobcaygeon Welcome to Summer Event,
the Kawartha Lakes Environmental Advisory Committee with the Kawartha Chapter of the Electric Vehicle Society of Canada is holding an Environmental Fair on Canal St. in Bobcaygeon. The Plug N' Drive Discovery Centre will be there offering free EV test drives around town. This is for your information only, no sales pitches! Also in attendance will be Pollinator Action - Bee City, Bird Friendly Kawarthas, Active Transportation Kawartha Lakes, Environmental Action Bobcaygeon, Seniors for Climate Action Now and more!
Bobcaygeon Beach Park – TRC Bobcaygeon
Truth and Reconciliation Community Bobcaygeon and Mishkodeh Centre invites you to join us in a time of friendship and celebration as we officially recognize the opening of this beautiful garden on June 19, 24 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Bobcaygeon Beach Park. If you wish to order a “United 100 Pride T-shirt, please sign the sign-up sheet with your size. Deadline is June 20th for orders and payments. Signup sheet and poster are on the table in the narthex. Cost $28.72 (for 2XL add an extra $2.00, 3XL add $3.50 and 4XL-6XL add $5.00).

Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank
Our family numbers are still increasing with more children.
The following food items would be welcome:
Juice Packs, cereal, Kraft dinner, rice, canned fruit juice, canned vegetables, pasta sauce in jars, peanut butter, canned stews, canned tuna, meat, canned fruit. Our Food Bank box is located in the narthex, or you can drop off items at our grocery store boxes. Your help is greatly appreciated!
‘After Words’ … is a new Bereavement Support Program
in Bobcaygeon offered by Kawartha Lakes Hospice. The group meets every first and third Tuesday in the month from 2:00 – 3:.00 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Bobcaygeon in the Fellowship Room. Please call Janice Craig, Hospice Bereavement Co-ordinator at 705-324-7323 x 553 for more information. Also, there is a poster with more information on Trinity’s bulletin board in the back hall.
