DO NOT MISS THIS YEAR’S WOMEN’S RETREAT!
After a three-year hiatus due to COVID, our UCW is again sponsoring our annual retreat weekend at Fair Havens. The dates are April 5 to April 7, 2024. Our leader of the retreat will be Alanna Mitchell. Total cost for the weekend for accommodation and meals is $325.00. Book now with a $75.00 deposit. (Women from Trinity and Providence only until Dec. 31st and open to others on January 1, 2024). A little information about Alanna Mitchell. In the year 2000 she was named the best environmental reporter in the world by the World Conservation Union and Reuters Foundation. She has written 5 books, 1 play and is the recipient of 2 honorary doctorates and many more additional plaudits. This year she was added to the editorial staff of Broadview, the only Canadian magazine focused on national and international issues of spirituality, justice, and ethical living as well as news and perspectives of the United Church of Canada. How blessed are we that she has generously accepted our invitation to lead our retreat! The clock is ticking - climate change is here! The planet is warming. What an enviable opportunity has opened to us! The chance to learn from Alana's expertise, experience and insights will help us all better recognize and understand the crisis. Call the church office at 705-738-5135 for more information. Thankyou, Carol Young.
