Welcome Back!

We welcome Rev. Dr. Bob Root back to Trinity and Providence! Rev. Bob will be with us for the next few months while Trinity and Providence search for a new Minister. We value Rev. Bob’s leadership during this time of transition.


Providence United Church

At Providence on September 4th, Rev. John Patterson will be preaching with the Providence Road Band providing the special music and Mike Chell will be playing the hymns. This will be the final Sunday Summer Service at Providence after a wonderful season of fellowship!

News from the Knitting Group

The Knitting Group meet every second Tuesday and the dates will be posted under “Special Activities This Week at Trinity”. For further information about the Knitting Group, contact Gail Lewis at 705-738-1279. Starting back up in the Fall.


WANTED:

a volunteer to set up a coffee/juice roster for after the service. As of now, no one is responsible. There is a template beside the kitchen door. No volunteer, no coffee/juice. Thanks in advance.


Congratulations!

Congratulations to Lillian and Larry Partridge on the birth of their great grandson, Oaklen Partridge, who was born on August 19, 2022. Oaklen is the first great grandchild of Lillian and Larry.

Bobcaygeon Helps Foodbank

The number of clients has greatly increased at the Food Bank. The Food Bank Box in the narthex is picked up weekly. There are drop off boxes at both of our grocery stores.

Items in need:

Canned fruit, canned vegetables, juices boxes, canned juice, tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet tissue. Bobcagyeon Helps is now set up for e-transfer. The contact information is: Bobcaygeon Food Bank. The email address is: bobcaygeonfoodbank@gmail.com Method of payment through: email.

Sept. 2 to 30 Celebrating Indigenous Artists, Gallery at the Boyd Museum.

Sept. 22, 4:00 p.m. Blanket Exercise at Trinity United Church

Sept. 30, 5:00 p.m. Guest Speaker, Artist David Beaucage Johnson, and Peterborough’s First Poet Laureate, Sarah Lewis-Nogojiwanong, at the Boyd Museum Grounds

Bobcaygeon’s Terry Fox Run for Cancer Research

After two years of virtual runs, Bobcaygeon’s Outdoor Terry Fox Run will happen again this year on Sunday, September 18! We are pleased to partner once again with the Kawartha Lakes Retirement Residence, 60 West Street, Bobcaygeon. The event takes starts with registration at 12:00 noon, followed by opening ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. and then the Run starts. People are encouraged to run, walk, bike, rollerblade, etc. on the 2km, 5km, 10km routes, or whatever distance is best for them. We also welcome participants using walkers, wheelchairs, and strollers. Participation by individuals, families or teams is encouraged. Donations can be made, even if you do not participate. Many of us remember seeing Terry Fox as he ran his Marathon of Hope for Cancer Research, 42 years ago. He still remains an inspiration! ECOR Women’s Retreat …

“Open Hearts, Open Minds, Open Doors” will be held from September 16-18, 2022 at Kingfisher Bay Retreat Centre. Ladies come and join us for a wonderful weekend of friendship and learning. Join us for drumming, crafts, canoeing, smudge, visiting the Petroglyphs and the Curve Lake Pow Wow! You will be asked to make a personal commitment … an achievable goal at the end of the weekend toward making a difference, one person at a time. Keynote speaker is Michael Doxtater, he is the Director, Saagajiwe – of Indigenous Creative Practice at Toronto Metropolitan University.
