Needed – 500 ml Mason Jars
The ladies will be making chili sauce again on August 26th, August 28th & September 2nd and I am looking for donations of 500 ml Mason Jars. To date I have 144 Mason Jars for the upcoming chili sauce making. Last year we made 217 jars and I would like to do the same this year. Therefore, I am short about 73 jars. If you have any 500 ml Mason Jars to contribute, that would be wonderful. Leave them in the Church kitchen and I will periodically pick them up.
Thanks very much, Olive Macoomb
Update regarding the Donations from our Congregation for the Residents of the Sandy Lake Community
Thank you to members of our church family who donated items to support people who had been evacuated from their homes in the Sandy Lake Community due to wildfires. We are pleased to report that people who were evacuated to Trent University in Peterborough have returned home and no homes were harmed due to wildfires. The donations from members of our church family were not needed for this event, but have been delivered to the Bobcaygeon Food Bank and other local charities. Your donations and support are very much appreciated!
Thank you from Susan Hachey, Outreach Committee.
SOLES 4 SOULS FOOTWEAR COLLECTION
Here is a chance to part with your 'gently used' footwear. A Soles 4 Souls collection box is in the narthex and if you have any gently used footwear items you would like to see go to an appreciative recipient(s) somewhere else in the world, please drop them off. If you have lots and would like them picked up instead, just call David Savournin at 705-738-1892 to make arrangements. (FYI…David and his group collected over 300 pairs of footwear in 2024 and are aiming for 500 in 2025!). More information about this initiative can be found at https://soles4soulscanada.org/. A quick update on shoes... to date, 219 pairs of gently used footwear have been donated by TUC congregants. Between TUC and the residents of Victoria Place, a total of 362 pairs have been donated to Soles4Souls so far this year through the BioPed Store in Lindsay. BioPed has 85 stores across Canada, and the Lindsay store ranks #4 in footwear collections for 2025 to date. A huge "Thank You" to everyone for their donations and support. We'll make it to our goal of 500 pairs this year...maybe more!
