SOLES 4 SOULS FOOTWEAR COLLECTION
Here is a chance to part with your 'gently used' footwear. A Soles 4 Souls collection box is in the narthex and if you have any gently used footwear items you would like to see go to an appreciative recipient(s) somewhere else in the world, please drop them off. If you have lots and would like them picked up instead, just call David Savournin at 705-738-1892 to make arrangements. More information about this initiative can be found at https://soles4soulscanada.org/.
A quick update on shoes... to date, 219 pairs of gently used footwear have been donated by TUC congregants. Between TUC and the residents of Victoria Place, a total of 362 pairs have been donated to Soles4Souls so far this year through the BioPed Store in Lindsay. BioPed has 85 stores across Canada, and the Lindsay store ranks #4 in footwear collections for 2025 to date.
A huge "Thank You" to everyone for their donations and support. We'll make it to our goal of 500 pairs this year...maybe more!

Witness Blanket
October 16 th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
Trinity United Church – Cannington
50 Laidlaw Street N.
Inspired by a woven blanket, the Witness Blanket is a large-scale work of art. It contains hundreds of items reclaimed from residential schools, churches, government buildings and traditional and cultural structures from across Canada. Here, you can explore the items and stories carried by the Witness Blanket. They are accompanied by the voices of Survivors who talk about the experience of being forced into residential schools. Their generous and insightful stories convey the reality of anti-Indigenous racism, colonialism and genocide. They reveal the ongoing harms caused by Canada’s residential school system.
A viewing event of the Witness Blanket has been scheduled for Thursday, October 16th @ 2 p.m. The location is at Trinity United Church in Cannington, which is about a 1-hour drive from Bobcaygeon. Carpooling would be greatly appreciated. If you would like to attend this event and/or can drive or need a drive, please contact me at my email, kim.draper.tuc@gmail.com or let Sue in the office know and arrangements can be made. There is no charge for visiting this exhibit; however, I’m sure donations will be accepted and appreciated.
