Congratulations Trinity & Providence!

In 2021 the Bobcaygeon-Providence Pastoral Charge raised $24,591.00 for Mission & Service fund of The United Church of Canada. A “Certificate of Thanksgiving” was sent to us as well as a letter of thanks.

Thanksgiving Envelopes

This week “Thanksgiving” Envelopes have been put into your bulletin to be returned on Thanksgiving Sunday, October 9th. The money will be going to the Bobcaygeon Food Bank.

PLEASE NOTE: October 16 is WORLD FOOD SUNDAY. Please bring food for the Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank on that day.


Bobcaygeon Helps Foodbank

The number of clients has greatly increased at the Food Bank. The Food Bank Box in the narthex is picked up weekly. There are drop off boxes at both of our grocery stores.

Items in need:

Canned fruit, canned vegetables, juices boxes, canned juice, tooth paste, shampoo, deodorant, and toilet tissue. Bobcagyeon Helps is now set up for e-transfer. The contact information is: Bobcaygeon Food Bank. The email address is: bobcaygeonfoodbank@gmail.com Method of payment through: email.


NEWSLETTER DEADLINE

The Fall Edition of the Carillon is now being planned. SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 6 is the deadline for your submissions. Distribution will be Friday November 18. What is your group or committee doing? News from the Knitting Group

The Knitting Group meet every second Tuesday and will begin meeting as of October 4, 2022. For further information about the Knitting Group, contact Gail Lewis at 705-738-1279.


Autumn Clean-up Day at Trinity

There will be a church yard clean-up day being held on Thursday, October 13th starting at 10:00 a.m. If you can come out and help and maybe bring a rake, that would be fantastic! Many hands make light work.

Starting in November we will be returning to having Greeters at our doors. Please phone Audrey Mackay if you would be interested in helping out in this way.

Big Drum Social on October 8th

at Purple Woods Conservation Area in Oshawa from 11:00a.m – 3:00 p.m. Please view the poster on our website at Big Drum Social - East Central Ontario Regional Council of the United Church of Canada (ecorcuccan.ca) An invitation from Reverend Rodney Smith-Merkley: I'd like to invite people on Oct. 8th who would like to attend the Big Drum Social to first meet at Westminster United Church in Whitby at 10am for a sharing circle and to see their Land Acknowledgement plaque which will have been dedicated on Oct. 2nd. The idea is people may bring their questions, or feel more comfortable attending with others.

ECORC'S Anti-racism, Interfaith and Intercultural Forum, invites you to learn about our world, our communities, and our neighbours through an exploration of some of the world's religions. In exploring our neighbour’s religion, we will learn about ourselves. Join us for an exploration, both outward and inward.

Tuesday November 8, 2022, 9:30 am to 3:00 pm (in person) Location: Trinity United Church, Cobourg Clergy and LLWL Training - Interpretation of Scriptures through the Art of a Lens of Anti-racism. To be facilitated by: Dr. Dorcas Gordon, former Director, Toronto School of Theology, Professor, and Principal of Knox College, U of T. Offered by The ECORC Anti-Racism, Interfaith and Intercultural Forum. More details to follow later this month for both of these events.
