News from the Knitting Group

The Knitting Group meet every second Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 3rd at the home of Karin Kinsman. We knit Prayer Shawls adults and children who need comfort, peace, and love as they go through personal loss, sickness, and grief. For further information about the Knitting Group, please contact Gail Lewis at 705-738-1279 or the church office for Karin’s address if you wish to join them.

Dear Friends,

We have not spoken about Prayer Shawls for some time and I would like to bring them to your attention this morning. We have 6 sweet baby blankets and 15 beautiful adult shawls that have been blessed and are ready to be shared. Please give some thought to anyone you know who might benefit from receiving a prayer shawl. The recipient does not need to be a member or adherent of Trinity/Providence churches: just someone you know who is experiencing a difficult time, either due to a loss of a loved one, an illness, loneliness, etc.

The Prayer Shawls are kept upstairs in the St. David’s room where you will find them stored in labeled bins. Please feel free to choose any appropriate shawl and fill in the form listing the date, your name and the recipient’s name.

I also want to pay tribute to the members of the Knitting Group who give so generously of their time and talent to create these wonderful shawls and lap blankets. We are very grateful for your commitment to this ministry.

With appreciation,

Carol Wells-Gordon
