If you have a prayer request, please call the church office at (705)738-5135 and we will pass your request through to our active Prayer Circle which meet every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary for prayer and our Pastoral Care Team.

 

Mary Justice

Mary passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Let us keep Bud and the Justice family in our thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time of loss.  More information will follow at a later date. Mary’s “Celebration of Life” will be taking place at Trinity United Church on Saturday, September 7, 2024 starting at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in Trinity Hall.

A BIG THANK-YOU!

Many, many thanks for the wonderful celebration of the 50th Anniversary of my ordination!  It was such a special time and I feel quite humbled by the outpouring of love.  Thank you to everyone who did so much to make it a special time.  The picture and signatures are terrific, as is Walter's song and Nicolette's cake.  Trinity knows how to party!  The powder blue suit has been put away!  Blessings, Bob

 

Hand Drumming

all you need is a heartbeat to join. On Monday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Next drumming practice is Monday, June 10th Drums and Friendship provided. Thank-you, Debbie

 

Ukulele Practice

There will be a ukulele practice on Monday, June 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Happy practicing till then!

Yard Sale at Trinity United Church, Bobcaygeon

A HUGE THANK-YOU to Cathy Bennett and her team of volunteers for the successful Yard Sale which took place this past Saturday, June 8th! Also, to those who where able to donate items to this most worthy cause of building an accessible washroom at Trinity. $1,647.20 was raised!

 

Come Out One and All!

Calling all those who love to sing or are musicians, to attend Choir practice not until Wed., June 12th at 2:00 p.m.  If you play a musical instrument and would like to participate during Sunday’s Worship Service, please speak with Debra Northey.


Concert at Trinity United Church “The Harp & Whistle”

An afternoon of Celtic Stories and Music!  With Tanah Haney, Edith Hawkins & Debra Northey. Taking place on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. right here at Trinity! Admission by donation. In support of building an accessible church washroom. Donations of $25.00 and up will get a tax receipt.

 

Knitting & Crocheting Group

Our Trinity Knitting & Crocheting Group will take a break for the summer and then return in the Fall to meet every other week on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. We will be meeting in the Fellowship Room at Trinity United Church to enjoy some pleasant socializing, a cup of tea and of course a little knitting or crocheting. See you in the Fall and all are welcome to attend!

 

Still Needed – 500 ml. Mason Jars

I am still collecting 500 ml Mason Jars for the upcoming chili sauce making.  At the moment, I have 170 jars and need another 60 jars.  If you have any jars to contribute, I would appreciate them.  A big thank-you to everyone who has contributed so far.   Mark your calendars ladies as I have set the dates for making the chili sauce: August 29th, Sept. 3rd and Sept. 5th starting at 8:30 a.m.   Lots of chopping and good fellowship.  Thank-you, Olive Macoomb

 

Providence United Church News

Providence will be starting up their church service this Sunday, June 16th with Rev. Dr. Bob Root giving the message and special music will be the Providence Road Band with Mike Chell as the organist. On June 23rd, Evelyn Chambers will be preaching with Susan Ryman providing the special music and Joy Crawford on the piano.

 

Bobcaygeon Beach Park – TRC Bobcaygeon

Truth and Reconciliation Community Bobcaygeon and Mishkodeh Centre invites you to join us in a time of friendship and celebration as we officially recognize the opening of this beautiful garden on June 19, 24 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Bobcaygeon Beach Park. Gdi nuhwendimin – “We are all related”.

 

United 100 Pride T-shirts

If you wish to order a “United 100 Pride T-shirt, please sign the sign-up sheet with your size. Deadline is June 20th for orders and payments.  Signup sheet and poster are on the table in the narthex. Cost $28.72 (for 2XL add an extra $2.00, 3XL add $3.50 and 4XL-6XL add $5.00).

 

Bobcaygeon Helps Food Bank

Our family numbers are still increasing with more children.

The following food items would be welcome:

Juice Packs, cereal, Kraft dinner, rice, canned fruit juice, canned vegetables, pasta sauce in jars, peanut butter, canned stews, canned tuna, meat, canned fruit. Our Food Bank box is located in the narthex, or you can drop off items at our grocery store boxes. Your help is greatly appreciated!

 

Concerts in the Park 2024

Taking place on Thursday evenings in July and August by the lock in Bobcaygeon. Children’s Concerts start at 5:30 p.m. with the Main Concert starting at 6:30 p.m. The schedule is as follows:

July 4th,        “Team T & J” for the children and then

July 11th,       “Wonder Phil” and then “Vintages

July 18th,      “Campfire Crew and then “Montana Sky”

July 24th,      “Cara Mitchel and then “Emily Flack”

‘After Words’ … is a new Bereavement Support Program

in Bobcaygeon offered by Kawartha Lakes Hospice. The group meets every first and third Tuesday in the month from 2:00 – 3:.00 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Bobcaygeon in the Fellowship Room. Please call Janice Craig, Hospice Bereavement Co-ordinator at 705-324-7323 x 553 for more information. Also, there is a poster with more information on Trinity’s bulletin board in the back hall.
