Arnott Matthews

Arnott Matthews passed away on November 21, 2023. He and his wife Ruth Ann came to Trinity for a number of years. Arnott’s funeral service was Monday, November 27, 2023 at Jardine Funeral Home. Let us keep the Matthews family in our prayers as they go through this difficult time of loss.


Eleanor Staples

Eleanor Staples passed away on Saturday, Dec. 2/23. A “Celebration of Life” will be held on Dec. 16th, 2023 at The Hendren Funeral Homes – Monk Chapel. Visitation from 12 pm till 1:30 pm with a service to follow at 2 pm. A time of fellowship and refreshment will be held after the service in Hendren’s lounge. Let us keep Jethro and the Staples family in our prayers as they go through this time of loss.

2024 Offering/Giving Envelopes

If you have offering envelopes, you may pick your 2024 envelopes up in the church Narthex. If you wish get offering envelopes or wish to go on PAR, please let Cathy Bennett know. Thank-you for your financial support.


Trinity’s Christmas Schedule

Dec. 10, 17, and 24 (Advent 2, 3, & 4) at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity.

Christmas Eve and Advent 4 will be celebrated on Dec.24 @ 10:30 a.m.

Calling all those who love to sing or are musicians, to attend Choir practice on Wed., December 13th at 2:00 p.m. If you play a musical instrument and would like to participate during Sunday’s Worship Service, please speak with Debra Northey.

Hand Drumming

all you need is a heartbeat to join. On Monday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. starting Monday, December 11th. Drums and Friendship provided. Thank-you, Debbie


Ukulele Practice

The next Ukulele Practice will be held on Monday, December 11th at 6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Room. Happy practicing until then!


White Christmas Sunday!

White Christmas Sun. will be on Dec. 17th. Please bring a food item or a money offering on that day for the Bobcaygeon food bank. Thank you.

A PLACE CALLED HOME

The UCW are collecting items for “A Place Called Home”. The items they are looking for are toiletries, dinner plates, cereal bowls and forks. If you can help in this way, please let Lillian Partridge know or bring them into the church office.

Are you a Knitter or Crocheter?

We need people to knit or crochet mitten, scarves, hats for our Mitten Tree. The items are distributed to our community here in Bobcaygeon and Lindsay to places like our public schools, Curve Lake, Boys & Girls Club, Ross Memorial Hospital, A Place Called Home etc. before Christmas. Please bring your knitting in by Monday, December 11th.


News from the Knitting Group

The Knitting Group meet every second Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 13that 2:00 o'clock at the home of Karin Kinsman. We knit Prayer Shawls adults and children who need comfort, peace, and love as they go through personal loss, sickness, and grief. For further information about the Knitting Group, please contact Gail Lewis at 705-738-1279 or the church office for Karin’s address if you wish to join them.


Council Members – Annual Report

If you are going away for the winter, please remember to send in your Annual Report for 2023 by January 20, 2024.

Did you know …

that both nursing homes (Case Manor & Pinecrest) are much more accessible these days! You no longer need to set-up appointments. I’m sure the residence would enjoy a visit! Since it is flue season, please call first to make sure they are not on lockdown.

‘After Words’ … is a new Bereavement Support Program

in Bobcaygeon offered by Kawartha Lakes Hospice. The group meets every first and third Tuesday in the month from 2:00 – 3:.00 p.m. at Trinity United Church, Bobcaygeon in the Fellowship Room. Please call Janice Craig, Hospice Bereavement Co-ordinator at 705-324-7323 x 553 for more information. Also, there is a poster with more information on Trinity’s bulletin board in the back hall.

United Church

Together Trinity United and Providence United make up the Bobcaygeon-Providence Pastoral Charge. Trinity is located in the village of Bobcaygeon. Trinity's church service starts at 10:30 a.m.

 

Providence is located at the corner of Providence Rd. and County Road 8, just west of Bobcaygeon. Trinity is open all year while Providence holds services from June to September.
