 A Request from our Prayer Circle

We are looking for people to join us every Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. in Trinity’s sanctuary to pray for our congregation, community and wider world.

 

 

Prayer Request and Pastoral Care

If you have a prayer request, please call the church office at (705)738-5135 and we will pass your request through to our active Prayer Circle, which meet every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary for prayer, and our Pastoral Care Team.

 

Trinity Yard Sale Thank-you!

The yard sale was held this past Sat. August 15th. A HUGE THANK-YOU to all who donated, volunteered and purchased the items for our garage sale which took place at Trinity and $2,002.25 was raised! Your help and generosity were greatly appreciated!

 

Heartbeats United - Spiritual Hand Drumming

As we drum, we join in one heart, in one heartbeat, To God's heartbeat. We lay our hands upon the drum just as we lay our pure trust in God's palm. All are Welcome Anytime you wish. Drums provided. Mondays at 2:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

 

Sunday School Hiatus

There is no Sunday School being held during the months of July and August. Thank you to all the children, parents and leaders who have supported this program throughout the year. We will be starting back in September so watch for the date in the bulletin.

 

Beginner Ukulele Classes

I am planning to start another beginner ukulele session in September. We have a ton of fun as we make music! The best way to contact me this summer is by email as we are often away (suejpepper@yahoo.ca), or you can leave your name and contact info. with Sue in the office. You will need your own ukulele. Be sure to get a soprano, tenor or concert ukulele (A baritone uke has different chord shapes). Talk to any member of Uke Troupe and find out how much fun we have!  Sue Pepper

 

At Providence United Church this Sunday, August 23rd     

Our guest speaker will be Bob Fenton who is our guest speaker this Sunday. Our special music will be Uke Troupe with Mike Chell on the organ. Providence schedules are on the Narthex table at Trinity in the foyer.

 

CHOIR START UP!

Choir will be starting up again on Thursday, September 3rd at 1:00 p.m. taking place in the Sanctuary. If you love to sing, come out and join us! Looking forward to seeing you.

 

ATTENTION CHAT GROUP!

Our "CHAT" group now meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Friendship Room. We have an hour of lively and insightful discussions about life, childhood, and more. If you'd like to chat about our world, your experiences, or life-changing events, come and join the conversation. Don't be shy...it's actually quite therapeutic at times!

 

“THE 4th TUESDAY”

On the 4th Tuesday of the month, at 10:00 a.m. there will be a gathering of people who want to talk about what is on their minds, meeting in the Friendship Room at Trinity. Everyone is invited to attend!

 

LIBRARY

We have many new books and we have added puzzles! To borrow a book or a puzzle, take the card out of the book pocket, sign your name, add date and put the card in the white basket on the tea table in the Friendship Room. When you return the book, simply put the book in the white basket.

Our UCW Are Collecting the Following:

Our Trinity UCW ladies are collecting Campbell Soup Labels, and grocery tapes from the Bobcaygeon Foodland and Bobcaygeon Independent only. If you could bring them into the church office, it would be greatly appreciated!

 

Trinity’s BBQ

Trinity will be having a BBQ on Sunday, September 13th right after church. Looking forward to seeing you there! (See the poster on bulletin board at Trinity.) There is a sign-up sheet in the Narthex/foyer for salads and desserts as well as set-up and take-down volunteers are needed.

 

Our Moderator- the Right Rev. Dr. Kimberly Heath…

will be coming to Trinity United Church on Sunday, September 20th leading our worship service at 10:30 a.m. We will also have special music by Dianna Scates, as well as various Trinity music groups. There will be a lunch in Trinity Hall following the service. Everyone is welcomed.

 

Live It Up Trinity and Friends!

Wellness Workshop and Fundraiser for Trinity United Church Bobcaygeon is taking place on Saturday, October 3rd from 9:30 a.m. –12 noon in Trinity Hall. The price is $40.00 per person and you can sign up at Trinity Church on a signup list or email your interest to Sheila.cook@invizzen.com.

2026 CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

This years Christmas Bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 21,

2026 at 10:00 a.m. We will have the following tables:

Bobcaygeon Diners Club

Come have lunch with us! At Trinity United Church on the second Thursday of each month. The next one will be on Thursday, September 10th. You must register in advance by calling at (705)324-7323 ext. 654 to reserve your seat by Friday noon the week before. Put on by Community Care, City of Kawartha Lakes.

 

SOLES 4 SOULS FOOTWEAR COLLECTION 2026 UPDATE

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH! It’s May 2026, and the gently used footwear collection program is going gangbusters! We are up to 296 pairs in total, of which 159 are from TUC members and their families. We took 127 pairs into BioPed, Lindsay, on May 19th, the largest amount we have ever collected in one go! If you have shoes and need them picked up, please call David at 705-738-1892. Give Shoes. Concerts in the Park 2026 …

Are taking place again on Thursday evenings in July and August by the lock in Bobcaygeon. Children’s concerts start at 5:30 p.m. and the main concerts are starting at 6:30 p.m.

 

Bobcaygeon and Area Terry Fox Run - 2026

We are pleased to announce that Bobcaygeon’s Terry Fox Run will be held on Sunday, September 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The Run / Walk starts and finishes at Aspira Kawartha Retirement Living, 60 West Street, and is non-competitive, all inclusive, where participants can run, walk, ride or wheel for 2, 5 or 10 kilometres to raise money for Cancer Research. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the Run concludes with a BBQ. If you are interested, visit terryfox.org for information, to register or to donate online for the Bobcaygeon Site. Donations for School Terry Fox Runs, held in September, are also encouraged.

 

You are also invited to a Terry Fox Benefit Concert celebrating the Music of “Vintages”. This event takes place on Thursday, Sept. 3rd

from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kawartha Settlers’ Village. Admission is by donation (A tax receipt is issued for a donation of $20.00 or more). For further information regarding the Terry Fox Run and the Vintages Concert, please contact Al or Connie Picken at 705-738-2863.

 

"Christ Church Anglican and Knox Presbyterian” …

are planning clothing giveaway in 2026 on October 23 & 24.

We are in need of donations. Clean, gently-used outerwear (men's, women's, children's) and footwear can be dropped off at Knox Presbyterian, 6 Joseph St. by the parking lot door or any Tuesday morning at Christ Church on Sherwood St. Financial donations are needed to buy new underwear and socks. We also need sturdy hanging racks (loaned or donated).  Thankyou from the Clothing Giveaway Team: Rev. Ian Marnoch, Debbie Martin, Donna Simon, Theresia Ruddock, Ruth Eberts and Betty Ann Shaw.

 

Rooted in Hope with Ruth Harvey at Five Oaks Centre!

A retreat is planned at Five Oaks Centre in Paris, Ontario for September 28-30, 2026. Arrival time is 3:00 p.m. and closing at 4:30 p.m. It will be led by Ruth Harvey a leader, mediator, writer and life long practitioner of intentional Christian community. The price is $460.00 for single accommodation and $406.00 with a person to share. Register by Monday, Sept. 14th by noon. (See poster in the hallway bulletin board for more information).

 

“After Words Grief Support” …

has moved their group to Aspira Retirement Living at located at 60 West St., Bobcaygeon (Meeting room is wheelchair accessible) (Held in the Library). There are two sessions monthly which are the 1st and 3rd Tuesday from 2 – 3 p.m. This is being put on by Community Care Hospice Services. Trinity and Providence
United Church

Together Trinity United and Providence United make up the Bobcaygeon-Providence Pastoral Charge. Trinity is located in the village of Bobcaygeon. Trinity's church service starts at 10:30 a.m.

 

Providence is located at the corner of Providence Rd. and County Road 8, just west of Bobcaygeon. Trinity is open all year while Providence holds services from June to September.
